HomeSailing 101
After you join KSA, you are eligible for Sailing 101, KSA's popular Introduction to Sailing.  Sailing 101 is offered to new members with little or no prior sailing experience; however, those with prior sailing experience are also encouraged to attend.

During the sailing season, about one or two Sailing 101's are held each month, typically during the weekend.  You can sign up for a Sailing 101 at our monthly meetings, or by responding to a Yahoo groups posting announcing a particular Sailing 101.

A typical Sailing 101 will cover the following points below.

Boating/Sailing Safety
Basic Boating/Sailing Terminology
Basic Rules of the Road
Basic Navigation

Cost:  Free for members.  But please expect to split incidental costs, such as the cost for food/beverage (and sometimes fuel).  Captains hosting the Sailing 101 are not compensated by the club, so attendees should try to be considerate guests.
